Nena Daconte

Some songs are not simply listened to: they stay somewhere in our memory. Songs that accompanied a time, a story, a way of feeling, and that, when they sound again, suddenly return something of who we once were while allowing us to listen from who we are now.

Nena Daconte —the stage name of María Meneses— comes to Mallorca & SONSDENIT with a very special tour, celebrating 20 years of music and reconnecting with audiences from the most essential place: alone, with her voice and her guitar. An intimate, close and deeply moving format that allows her songs to be heard in a different light, without artifice, with the fragility and truth of what endures.

Over these two decades, Nena Daconte has written some of the most recognisable songs in recent Spanish pop. Songs that belong to a shared emotional memory; songs many people have sung, lived with, dedicated, or kept somewhere private. And yes, it is hard to think of her without that line immediately coming back —“tenía tanto que darte”— a line so many of us have carried on our lips at some point.

But this concert will not simply be a journey back to what we already know. It will also be a chance to hear those songs up close, stripped back, breathing in another way. In a voice-and-guitar format, melody becomes more exposed, words more precise, and every emotion finds a more direct space. What once may have sounded like a generational anthem now appears as a confidence, a conversation, a different way of meeting again.

At SONSDENIT, Nena Daconte will perform for the Mallorcan audience in a concert designed for closeness: an evening to sing, remember, discover new nuances and celebrate the strength of songs that, without making too much noise, have accompanied so many lives.

📍The concert will take place at the Claustre de Sant Bonaventura, in Llucmajor, a space that seems made for listening up close. Its stone, serenity and human scale turn every concert into an intimate, sheltered, almost suspended experience.

There is something very special about experiencing music in a place filled with history. The cloister walls have heard countless things: voices, footsteps, conversations, silences, stories, music. Perhaps that is why they hold so well songs that also arrive filled with life.

At SONSDENIT, venues are never just scenery. At Sant Bonaventura, Nena Daconte’s voice and guitar will find a particularly fitting setting: a close, beautiful place full of memory, where songs can sound as if they were being told quietly, among stone, night and everything still left to sing.
