Some concerts carry the feeling of a homecoming. Not only because an artist returns to the place where he was born, but because he returns with something new to share: a record, a search, a recent part of his life transformed into music.

On 7 June, Marco Mezquida returns to Menorca to present 'Táctil', his latest album, at home, leading an exceptional trio with cellist Martín Meléndez and percussionist Aleix Tobias. This formation has become one of the most fertile, free and expressive spaces in his creative universe.

A pianist, composer, improviser and one of the most brilliant musical personalities of his generation, Mezquida has built a language entirely his own, moving naturally between jazz, contemporary music, Mediterranean roots, song, improvisation and a rhythmic and melodic imagination in constant motion. His music refuses to be held inside a single label: it breathes, transforms, plays, takes risks and moves.

In 'Táctil', that search becomes especially physical, close and organic. The title already suggests it: music that seems almost touchable, made of sensitive matter, pulse, air, wood, skin, string and silence. With Martín Meléndez and Aleix Tobias, Marco’s piano finds an expansive and deeply attuned companionship: the cello opens depth and lyricism; the percussion brings texture, momentum and earth; and together the three musicians create a sound full of detail, listening and freedom.

But this presentation in Ciutadella will inevitably carry an added emotion. Marco returns to his beloved Menorca with a new album and with an immense desire to share it live with his Menorcan neighbours. Coming home is never simply returning to the same place: it is coming back with everything lived, learned and dreamt, and letting the music say what does not need to be over-explained.

It will be an evening to celebrate one of the great Menorcan musicians of our time, in dialogue with his island, with his audience, and with that unmistakable ability of his to turn every concert into something alive, unrepeatable and deeply human.
