Some concerts, because of their setting, timing and meaning, become truly special.

The one on 9 August at the Santuari de Monti-sion — on the hilltop where the sanctuary stands, just outside Porreres — is one of them. Not only is the venue serene and captivating, but Joan Martorell, one of Mallorca’s most celebrated musicians today, will be performing “at home”. And in Porreres, that carries a special meaning.

This concert will also serve as the pre-release of his new album, After the Storm. The album arrives exactly 20 years after his debut (Capturant un sospir) and brings together a collection of musical journeys and stories drawn from his experiences and the stages of life he's passed through since then.

In After the Storm, the piano — his main instrument — blends with organic textures (strings, guitar, double bass) and electronic elements, shaping a deeply intimate and emotionally rich sonic universe.
